Sablićevo is one of the beaches where Rijeka itself goes swimming: a small pebble cove below the old villas of Pećine, just a few minutes east of the center. The clear water gets deep quickly, and across the bay you look out over the Kvarner. Among the regular swimmers and neighborhood families you'll soon feel like a local.
The cove is small and fills up fast in high summer; come before noon.
A small next-step selection from the same city.

A worthwhile landmark for a richer Rijeka route.
