The city museum lives in the baroque headquarters of a former sugar refinery, where restored halls of wall paintings and stucco are an exhibit in their own right. Inside, the port city's story unfolds between Habsburg trade, industry and the sea, including the torpedo that was developed here. Give yourself time for the painted rooms upstairs.
The modern art museum and the Children's House sit in the same Benčić complex next door.
