Getting from the airport into Zagreb
A shuttle bus runs to the main bus station in Zagreb and takes around 30 minutes, with departures tied to arriving flights. From the bus station a tram takes you to the centre in a few more minutes. A city line also serves Velika Gorica, useful if you need a local connection rather than the centre.
What you can reach from ZAG
Zagreb itself, then Plitvice Lakes by direct coach in roughly two to two and a half hours, Karlovac on the way there and Varaždin to the north. In winter ZAG is often the sensible arrival airport even for the coast, because onward buses run all year while coastal flights do not.
